Karate Highs: Getting back to training after the birth of Tia and gaining a full pass at 3rd Kyu after returning.


Karate Lows: Feeling so uncoordinated when trying to do Jyu Ippon



Favourite Kata: Bassai Dai. I thought I would never get to grips with the moves at first as it is the longest kata I have learnt so far, but now I really enjoy it. I can progress through the brown belt grades with that one kata and the improvements that are needed for each progression. It really gets you thinking about hip movements.


Karate Ambitions: Shodan at 40! Watch this space.

Other Interests: My husband and I enjoy rallying and when we have time (and the money) compete in some local events. He drives and I navigate – it’s the only time I know he will listen to me. We have won one award so far – hopefully there’ll be more to come and of course the kids. Tia and Josh keep me very busy.
